Fastest setup for 4s

I apologize ahead of time if this is in the wrong part of the forum or if it's been asked before..

Just received a Proboat Mystic 29 2 weeks ago, Love it. But like everything else I buy it's time to upgrade and make it go faster. I want to keep with the 4s batteries since I bought 3 sets of them already to try out different Mah and C ratings. I also have the stock prop, prather 220, and octura x642. Im looking for some advice on what motor and esc would be best to go fast without running 5s or 6s. Most likely will go with the seaking 180a esc but what motor to run? 3650, 3674, 4074 or 4082 with 2000kv-2300kv? There is just so many options but almost everything is out of stock from OSE. In stock is the Leopard 4082 combo with 180a esc 2200kv but is kinda pricey. I would also like to run 4s2p possibly if its worth buying 2 4s packs.

The longer length of the 4082 wont clear the hatch cover.

Thanks, I've been running around the forum all day on this topic and just saw that the 4082 is too big to clear the lid.

My new question is if the electrifly ammo motor 3650 2300kv is worth trying, And how does it compare to the leopard 3650 2290kv 6d motor and the 3674 2200kv 3d. Or do I just wait until the 4074 is in stock with the 180a esc combo?

What Is the biggest kv motor that can be used with stock esc?

I went with this set up and love it 4074 t180esc m445 and 2 4s 4500 nanoteck runs 54
get 4 minute run times x 2 as batterys need a cool down or start to get puffy, run about 120-130 at 4 to 4.5 minutes everything else stays cool 100-110
I did add extra water pick up so motor and esc are seperate.
I was going to use the osc motor mount as i did get it but ended up just using the ends, as otherwise would have required me to remove the wood from inside
I wanted to be able to move stock motor or the 1800kv in also so this set up works fantastic.just 3 dollor piece of alum epoxyed in at back.
Have had many 40+ mph flips and all stays well.

I pm'ed stadiumyamaha and I like his setup with the 3674 2200kv with seaking 180a. Less torque than the 4074 but still will run over 50mph. Im hoping to fit 4s 5000 turnigy nano techs if possible. Is there a rudder with two pickups available or did you run a transom mount water pickup, I would like to run the upgraded traxxas spartan dual rudder pickup if it will fit on the mystic mount. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...-5740R-natural

Im sure the 5000 nanns will fit as same h x L as 4500 just a little wider and there is still room for more width on the 4500 I just ordered 2 5000 nans myself the 65c-130burst think thell be fine

Hey Skyhighdiver, Got any advise on Zippy flightmax 4s 8000mah 30-40c to run parallel. Size is 166x69x35mm. I would like a higher C, but these seem like a great deal at $50 each. It would definately be a tight squeeze and I would have to relocate my water outlet.

Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 4S 65~130C Lipo Pack just fit but damn hard to get in and out,
They are 153x49x37 you have the room length wise for larger but no adjustment room to move forward or back and the height will be troubles to get wedged in.

I would stick to the 5000 or less as you are also getting weight heavy the rear end sits low in the water at a stop with what I have
The larger c is great I can run 5 minutes now no puffy temp hot but ok
Think with larger kv motors and larger props the 65c is a must the 30-40 work great with the stock stuff but your working them hard on larger motors

Looking to break 50mph, If I can do it on the stock motor and just buy 3s batteries to mach my 2s that would save a little money. Otherwise I will go 4s parallel with the leopard setup. Im also setting up a Sullivan streamer 12v electric field pump to keep the water cooling constant. 4 AA waterproof battery holders one on each side of the boat behind the lipos and the pump sitting in front of the motor as far forward as it can go.

I dont seem to have motor or esc heat issues now with the second water pick up for the motor, use rudder one for the esc and bolt on as in picture for motor and jacket my only warm point now are batteries still with my 45-90c get 140 after 3.4 min 65c better I tried 5s with 1800kv and 2030 kv ul-1 motor sent both to there graves after less than 5 minutes the 1500kv runs ok with 5s but not nere the speed or pep that the leo 2200 has i think i hit 46 with 5s on the 1500 if i remember right I run 52-55 on the leo 2200 4s so take it for what its worth and have fun remember keep it prop side to the water 8)

Im going to stick with the 4s setup after I fix some things, took the boat out today to try a prather 220 stainless prop and flipped the boat.. Broke the top hatch in the front and back and I still cant locate the tupperware lid, those must sink and not float? Drying out everthing on the inside. not sure if it will run again or if my stock setup is now junk. Oh well I guess thats boating for ya..

Ive got an inner lid if you want it, you can have it for shipping cost. Also I make epoxy hatches that will end the breaking of the stockers and you will no longer need the inner lid.. Link is in my signature. Was your hatch taped down?????

So you dont need the inner lid with the epoxy hatch? Does it seal like the inner lid would to be "so called water tight"?

No and no. It sits almost identical to the factory plastic lid, just thicker and much MUCH stronger. Tape is what seals out the water.

Matter of fact, I reinforced my factory plastic Gecio hatch and dont run the inner lid with that either. Its my race boat and has been thru violent blow overs.
