Ok tiqueman. Look I can't prove it but I can measure a distance and I can count. If I count to 60 I'm costantly within + - 3 seconds. That's only a 5% margin of error. 84.4 -5% is still over 80mph. average speed. It may not be real accurate compared to a gps but if I were a full second off and took 6 seconds to go 620 feet I would have still averaged 70mph. That would be a 20% error. I'm not out to discredit you because I do value your oppinion but if can count to 60 and only be off by 3 seconds I kind of find it hard to believe I would consistantly be off by 1 econd when only counting to 5. Heres a game I used to play while we traveled. I used to set the cruise control at 60 mph. on the freeway and start counting when passing a mile marker. Again, the next mile marker would usually pass by between a count of 58 and 62. This would keep me awake while on a long trip. I know lots of guys have a real problem keeping this hull on the water but again adjustments can be made to correct the problem. I must have learned something from all the posts I read and all the mistakes I made but I do think I have this boat dialed in just right.

Hey I think it's time for us to get to sleep . It's 2:30 am here.

I uderstand how to set up a boat and the things that need done when speed increases. I kinda do it a lot. the problem I have is you say one thing "my boats done consistant over 84mph" then you say, well, I havent set it up w/ the big motor yet"(post 248) now your back to, "I constantly counted..." So which is it... you think its capable because of the math? Or have you actually done it? I can show you set ups all day that will put a mini rio over 100mph. Will it do it, no. Hulls have speed barriers that cannot be overcome sometimes. IF, you got your MG doing 80, we want to see vids and set up pics. Dont need gps's, or count downs.. those of us who have been doing this long enough are plenty smart enough to give a good estimate of speed even by watching a video.

And let us know how long the leopard lasts at almost 50k RPM. Thats a recipe for disaster.

When you get your boat all set up and get the bigger motor in it, start a new thread about it. You should be excited and thrilled if youve reached that speed and should want people to know. I can say my boat does 90 and post vids and make excuses all day of why my vid only shows it doing 55.

I can see how you might be confused. When I mentioned the 4074 motor I (Was) running that was only to show that the 5.5mm plugs can handle that motor. That was the motor I had in it before my 4082. As to my statement regarding "I havn't done it yet with my 4082" all I was saying there was that I havn't run my 4082 setup at 80%-100% for 5 minutes nonstop. I wasn't saying that I havn't run my 4082 setup yet. The last vid. I posted was with my 4082 setup so unless you missed it you have seen me run my boat at least for a short run at nearly full throttle with my new setup. Notice it didn't blow over. That's why I made the statement with that vid. that I may have been running the boat a little wet.

I went back to post 248 and nowhere there did I say I didn't set it up with the 4082 yet. Also, please note that that statement regarding the 4082 setup only related to running at 80%-100% throttle for 5 minutes non stop.

Tiqueman, Many consider Tacon to be a lesser motor than Leopard and the 5 minute run at 80%-100% throttle was done with a Tacon 4074 motor. I used to do this kind of run on 6s fairly often with the Tacon motor and never had an issue. Are you saying a Leopard motor is a lesser motor than a Tacon motor?

Not even close to 80 mph, bud. Looks like 50.

Scott, that sounds about right. By then the wife would of forgotten that I spent the money on that hull. It will be irreverent. So, I'll send you $2 a month until then.

Ecco, I say quit with the guesstimating, get the damn thing in the water with a GPS or a radar gun and let the REAL numbers talk. You have to be a freaking cyborg to calculate speed the way you're describing. I mean, Highway Patrol and State Troopers are trained to calculate speed by counting the lane markers but water doesn't have lane markers and you haven't mentioned to be a highway officer with said training. I'll be the first A-hole to pull out the BS flag until proof can be produced. It doesn't really matter to me but your ramblings have cause need for physical proof.

You may want to take a look at my vid bud and you will notice how far away my boat was from the camera as compared to how close the boat is in the vid you posted. The later to me seems much slower than my vid. It would be one thing to say my vid looks more like 70 or 75 but 50. C'mon bud I didnt just fall off the turnup wagon. I also was there in person and did all the calculations and if you look at the description in the vid I posted and here it is incase you missed it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu3FDsfhHJ4 If you look at a later description I posted on the OSE site you will amlso notice this wasn't my speed run as my camara guy wanted to go home before I replaced my batteries. I don't have a gps but if you want further proof I can tell you where you can get a measurement of the lake and look at the vid again. You will see that theres no way that's only 50.

And Ill add one more thing, and then Im done. you cant estimate anything on the water unless your passing two bouys (if by yourself) that you can literally pass with two feet of. And even at that, figuring by yourself is nearly impossible. Water gives the optical illusion when estimating and judging things in the background etc. I can put up several vids that have two boats w/ totally different set ups one stockish and one much faster and point out a dozen times each in the vid where the slower boat looks faster than the fast one because of the distance between the two.... distance meaning if they were close to side by side but one was further to the horizon than the other. As JB26 stated, until you get real proof in your speed reading, you , as well as we, have no idea adn can only make "educated" guesses. And how can you say it does 84.4 or over 84, when you cant even crack wot and didnt in your run. Your boats trimmed no where right as it bounces all over the place etc etc. wahwahwahwah tai, no tail, tail, no tail. You can see it in the "dashes" in the tail. its not smooth and consistant as it should be when running high speeds. there is no way a boat will run even close to 80 w/ a poor attitude. BUT, non of us know anything?

I think its time we get this thread back on topic. Eco, if youd like to further this discusssion, it may be best to start a new thread, detailing your set up, pics etc and get some typ of speed recording device and lets go from there. With actual data not guesses. I am curious to see how your boat ends up and will follow that new thread. but for now, lets just say, and I think I can speak for all of us commenting on it, lets agree to disagree.

That's NOT 84mph.I have GPS runs at 90kph(55?) and I'd say he may be getting there.Oh, and doesn't this thread say"mystic" not "MG"?

I think you are right tiqueman, I do think it's time to get this thread back on topic. I will say this though. Once I replaced the batteries I did go full throttle with this setup and it didn't bounce around or porpoise much at all. I would like to know though, do you think I'm running too wet or should I tip the front end down some more? I think I could run it a little dryer but I would like your opinion. Do you think there are other things I should do as far as trimming my boat out? After all, we all can learn more and I'm open to ideas.

Yes this thread does say "Mystic" but if you look at my first post on this thread I think I started by answering someone's question regarding their plugs which in turn got us off topic. Sorry if I threw us all off topic but both boats do use the same hull so I thought the MG was a was close enough. Once you gut them and install your own electronics and hardware they are the same, exept for the color and decals.
