The Best Battery Set Up for MG V.2 29BL

I am brand new to the hobby and I have recently purchased my MG V.2 with dual Venom 2cell 5000mah LiPo's as suggested by my LHS.

Can anyone weigh in on the best possible batteries to purchase for speed/run time given my boat is all stock?

    Thanks!

Ok so I have 3 different batteries sets now.
after 3 identical timed 2 minute runs, all within 30 minutes of each other on same wind and water conditions.

Using Leo 2200kv motor, hobby wing 180A esc, M445 prop
    Here are the findings:
    .................................................. ................................................ MPH....Temp....Replaced mah
    2 Turnigy nano-tech 4500mah 4S 45~90C Lipo Pack............................ 48.3......123.........4650
    2 Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 4S 65~130C Lipo Pack...........................53.8........98..... ....4480
    2 Turnigy(blue) 5000mAh 4S 40C Lipo Pack........................................ 47.5......118.........4583

your battery choice will be same just longer run times and less heat with the small electronics

      Hi and welcome,
You want a C rate 30 or above for boats.
I am not sure but I think they may have robbed you,
On the Venom 2cell 5000mah LiPo's as suggested by my LHS.
What did you pay for the 2s cells ?
You are just sport running right ?
And not racing or doing saw runs.
Hear is some links for good cheap lipos. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/index.asp

        Thank you for the response.

I paid approx. $90/battery and yes I am just using the boat for recreational purposes. Why do you think they "robbed me?"

I don't pay more than about $35 per Lipo pack, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
If they were Hyperions, I could understand paying double as much.

You got a lifetime warranty with those venom lipos. Keep your receipt, and if they puff, or solder inside comes loose, they will replace them for free. If you can't produce your receipt for the lipo, you can still get 50% off a new one. You have decent lipos.

Just FYI, I run Hyperions and they are rock solid after 3 years... expensive, but you get what you pay for.

              Good vendor for those: www.rcdude.com

I suggest you try dinogy cells, I have tried everything from turnigy to thunderpowers and everything in between, thunderpowers are really good but very expensive, hyperion's expensive and not as good as TP's, then I tried these dinogy cells, all I can say is that they are as good if not better, and cheaper. Try this web site www.performancerclipos.com.
Bit of advice on the gieco, its esc is rated for 4s only, do NOT try running 6s in it you will burn the esc out.
