    Proboat miss geico questions

I currently have the proboat miss geico, I have not drove It yet and have a few questions.

It's stock with a 2 blade prop and I have no clue what size prop is stock? I did buy the metal (stainless)? I guess prop with the program card. I seen a guy on you tube running a grimmracer prop and 6s lipos. Is this possible considering the esc is suppose to be a 4s? Also what would be a good 3 blade prop for maximum top speed you think? Boat is all stock with just the lipos. Any suggestions how to get it FASTER speed wise? We have a mini rc shoot out here in Missouri at lake of the ozarks se I am wanting to get the record or close to it this year... Any info I greatly appreciate!!

You mentioned you want to set a record, so i am assuming that this is not your first electric boat.
Which version of MG do you have?
The motor in the original MG was a 1500kv BL motor and is capable of being run on 6s, however, if you have the later version which I believe has a 1800 kv motor, that is a little high on 6s. The ESC will not handle 6s if it is rated at 4s.
Also the Deans plugs are not suitable for this type of high amp draw. You need to change to 5.5mm bullet plug at the minimum. To run on 6s, I would want to up grade the ESC to a least a Seaking 180 a ESC and with the BEC disabled. ( Running separate receiver cells)
Most people run m445, x642 will also do.
Keep in mind that the metal prop from Proboat is very heavy and although they say you can use it, it is really not sharpened and/or balanced, you can use it but the fact that it isn't balanced translates to accelerated wear and tear, my strut bushing worn out real fast. ( This on my Fast Tech, but same situation)
When is the shoot out? If I were you I will do a little home work and come up with a plan, the hull also needs to get dialed in, depending on your hull, some have a porpoising habit which needs to be addressed by truing the riding pads. Spend some time reading threads regarding MG, you will have a better idea.
      Good luck for your quest!
      Cheers!

I am mistaken: MG V2 still has 1500kv motor, got confused with the Mystic which came out later than the MG V1, but the ESC is only rated at 4s, I will not run 6s on this unit.
They do not use Deans plug, they use EC3, still, you need to up grade to 5.5mm bullet plug, IMO.

I have the first version of the MG when proboat just released it.. I get confused with all this 4s and 6s stuff.. I know I have the traxxas lipos to run it with the program card. Can I go to a bigger esc and motor? Will it mount up in the boat? Who does balancing on these props or can I purchase one somewhere?

If I may voice my opinion: Since you have not driven the boat, why not run it bone stock to begin with, get a feel and then you would know better what you want to have done first. I don't know what is the Traxxas lipo that you have, are they 2cell ( 2s) 7.4v lipo or 3cell (3s) 11.1v lipos? In any case, do not exceed 4s for now. Your total voltage should be 14.8v.
As for buying polished/balanced/sharpened props, you can get it right here @OSE, however, because certain props are more popular than others, they are often out of stock, you need to click " add to watch" on the web page. Here is the link: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...Balanced+Props
You can also look at the ESC page , the one most popular is Seaking 180amp ESC, here: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...er-seaking-180
If you run 6s, you need to disable the BEC circuit, because it is a known issue that the ESC will not last long if you don't do this procedure. It simply means you need to run separate receiver pack. This reduces the work load on the ESC.
Hope this bit of info would give you an idea. There are lots threads dealing with all the questions you have, I know it is time consuming and sometimes just plain difficult to get exactly what you want to know.
again, good luck and there are many other members who are much more knowledgeable than I am, so you are at the right place.
            Cheers!
