    Miss Geico V2?

Did I miss the announcement? I was just checking out the PB site and noticed MG is now $390 and due out in September.

60A ESC is about the only difference I see, except the price bump.

I was surprised they did not include the offset rudder that comes on the mystic? Seems like a must have just from a maintenance point of view?

I'm guessing they need to differentiate it from the Mystic/Blackjack somehow. The real boat runs on the central rudder, I guess they want to stay faithful to it. It seems like the Geico is geared slightly more towards the newer boater, and that centered rudder probably helps maneuverability at low speeds.

Seconds on the offset rudder maintenance, loosen the collet and pull the shaft out, it should be that quick. JMO

I'm looking at one at my LHS. Its NIB, but the original version for $339.00. I'm not racing it, so I'm wondering if spending more for the newer one is worth it? For my use, the center rudder would be dandy. Do you think they upped the ESC due to failures, or just to insure that you could run a larger motor in the future without having to change it out?

I sure like the GEICO boat with the air rudder! Looks awesome. They could have included that in the newer version. That would have been a visual improvement too. Not that the previous boat was not awesome looking, I just like this version more:

The ESC would help support larger props for more speed. A lot of the props I run on this boat with the stock 1500 motor pull 80-105 amps.

The fin looks cool but I'm sure I would rip that thing off after the first time I flipped the boat.

Is that a home brew cover with vertical fin you made or can the rest of us get one too?

RIP Mystic 5000c Twin Turbine with the Fin.
The "real" New MG is going to look more like the model. It is gonna be 43 foot and will Have Mercury Racing 1075 combustion engines as well.

And it's not a Mystic any longer.

I'm 99.9% sure it's just a temporary replacement for the team. Latest I've heard is they're working on a custom plug for a new design (based on things they've learned from the Platinum, MTI, and Mystic) of boat for the turbine extreme class, which is supposed to take off within the next few years with help from Sheik Hossan of Qatar and a few of the other turbine Mystics. The balance of this year is the team's way of warming up for the turbine class and having actual competition for a change.
