    Modify Custom Miss Geico flex shaft to 3/16" from .150

    Can anyone tell me what's involved to change the MG flex shaft to 3/16" (.187). I have a 4082 leopard that's going in and I thought I should probably upgrade the flex shaft but maybe not.....any opinions on the best thing to do. It's just for SAW I'm not racing. Just hot rodding around.

      I've been running my MB with a CC 1515 with the 150 cable glued with Loctite 638.I haven't broke one yet. Go to 3:20 to see.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T755w8fHsjc&feature=plcp And that is with two 5000 mah 4s's.

          Awesome, I can see it really screams, tons of torque. I didn't really notice before but my boat looks a lot like yours when it's flyin' by.
          Thanks for your help. I'll keep in touch and let you know how things work out. I got the 4082 yesterday and will probably set it up this week.
          Gonna run the old set up this weekend for the last time. Weather here is 80 and sunny with no wind all weekend, so I'm looking forward to a good
          last weekend with the old set up. I'll take some pics and post 'em.
          By the way, where is your battery placement on your boat? I'm about 1/2" from the back of the battery tray. Seem ok there. The bottom of the drive tube is
          flush with the pad. Centerline of the prop shaft is 1/8" above the pad...approx. what do you think?

              With my setup I have the batteries 1" from the back and it can be a little light in light chop.My strut is currently set as yours but I'm going to put it up a tad as it is torqueing over on takeoff.I am running a M645 though.And am trying an ABC 1818 if I can keep it in the water.

                  I noticed the torqueing over when you pull the trigger. I have an X642 that I've been running with the stock motor since I got the boat almost 2 years ago. Now I got a M645 to run with the 4082. I was going to try it but thought it would probably just cook the stock motor.

                      Keep the stock motor for a rescue rig or scale project.
