    Leopard 4082 2200kv....newbie

I want to purchase a Leopard 4082 2200kv for my MG. Will this motor be in the way of the inner liner? Does anyone have this motor in there MG that can tell me. Thanks.

This has been discused a few times before & the longer motor hits the cover, most tend to use a 4074 motor. I think some have modded the covers to clear the longer motor though.

On that particular motor the inner lid will touch the motor, I used heat gun to deform ( enlarge the bubble) the front, be careful , not too much heat, the Tupple ware lid gets softened quickly.
Another way is to shorten the motor shaft which is 20 mm long---much longer than stock motor's shaft and you need to slide the aluminum motor mount anyway to the very front (away from transom)--- part of that is thus unsupported by the wood underneath.
Another member decided not to have this motor after reading this, he felt Leo 4074 would be less trouble for him. It is your call, but it works in my MG .
