Near crash and burn - need help

    Folks,
I need help. I am new to this and just bought a new PRB Miss Geico.

During the first time out the throttle failed wide open and the steering stopped. After about 100 yards it flipped or it never would have stopped. When I got to the boat it was still running wide open. I opened the covers and killed the switch.

Not sure what happened to the steering but there was water inside. I decided the motor issue is an overheating problem because I have never seen water coming out of the outlet and things were very hot.

Trying to trouble shoot, I disconnected the poly tube from the nipple on the rudder pick up and tried to blow water through the system. I could not. I separated the motor and could blow water through it. However, I could not blow water through the ESC even by itself.
This does not seem right. How can water flow through the system it you can't force it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

That is not right. You should be able to blow thru it.

I doubt that the loss of control had anything to do with the overheated motor. The motor overheated because it was running wide open for several minutes. The water probably came from the boat being upside down, but that could have entered the hull while running and caused the problem.

The ESC needs to be fixed, that is most likely the problem. Contact ProBoat customer service and tell them exactly what happened. As long as the transmitter batteries were full, I doubt that you did anything wrong, particularly if the boat ran fine for awhile. Water in the receiver could cause what you describe, experienced boaters tape the hatch to keep out water.
