Just got into boating and have a question. moreso advise

I bought a Miss Geico and a old Vallian off a guy on here and I love them and they are my first boats. My buddy however hasbeen into boats for a long time now and is wanting to get into the larger gasoline boats. He's trying to talk me into selling my boats to fund a gas one but im not sure I want to make the switch. Unfortunatly the boats he's wanting us to get appear to be cheap boats from Exeed racing and I question their quality and such.

Can I get some experienced advice on this.

The Miss Geico is not stock there is a 180amp ESC and a 4400 BL motor.

The exceed boats are slow in stock for and come with no turn fins or trim tabs on the transom. I bought one and converted the hull to brushless power but it was a fair amount of work. Wait until he gets his so you can see what they are like...I think you will be glad you waited.

Your motor is 4400kv? I hope not.

I'm pretty sure that's what I was told but could be wrong. I'm not new to BL motor but I am when it comes to boats.

I'd suggest finding out what the actual kv is. If it really is 4400kv that's no good.

One issue with the exceed boat is if he runs its stock, he might have an issue finding replacement parts for the motor. Their has been a few of there gas hulls converted to electric on this forum.

I talked to kenny the origanal owner and he said its a 4000kv from hobby king. Yeah I think ill just stick with my electric for now then later go gas from a reputable american company.

That motor is no good for boating. Better use in land vehicles. Id remove it asap! Get something suitable for boating, something in the 1800-2000kv range and props in the 40-45mm range (depending on motor choice). That range on 4s will be a good setup. Motor should be around 3665,3674 even larger 4074 motors are ok, little overkill. Id pick a leopard 3674 in the kv range I mentioned. Just a suggestion.

What voltage are you running on that thing?
