Just a little more for my Miss Geico

Had a Proboat Blackjack that I sold last year. I converted it to a strut / rudder setup with an octura 642. I flipped it a lot, got tired of that...

So I found a MIss Geico in mint condition with the programmer card for $150.

Put a couple runs on it. I have some 2650mah 4s 40c packs from my airplanes, so I rewired the boat with a single deans, then I run a paralled adapter to connect the two packs for 4S 5300mah.

    It's completely stock.

I am very impressed with the handling, compared to the blackjack it's night and day. Nice to be able to take full throttle turns over it's wake without breaking out the fishing pole with the tennis ball.... lol...

I would like to get a little more performance out of it. Nothing crazy, but maybeanother 5-10mph.

I ran 6s in the blackjack on the stock electronics with no problems. This looks like the same ESC, but I read a lot about not running 6S in the MG. Is this not the same ESC? Can I get away with 5S?

Going to go with aother octura for the MG. Is the 642 the best choice for this boat as well?

I am also going to offset the rudder as well. I think I can do it with the stock hardware, just build a spacer to move it over to the right, lfip the rudder control horn and reverse the servo direction.

I think this will give me what I'm looking for. I don't want to waste money on the wrong parts. Am I on the right track?

The x642 is what most folks use to gain the extra 7-10 mph with the stock motor on 4s.

Got the X642 on, greased up the flex, and have a few runs on the new prop.

Huge difference, way faster with the simple prop change (spent a good hour sharpening and balancing on a TF magnetic balancer). Very pleased. I get about 10-12 minutes on the 5300mah with a moderate run, and 6 minutes running balls to the wall the whole time. Motor, esc and batteries are all barely warm after a full throttle run which is great.

And this boat is so stable! I was disappointed in the blackjack 26, was so easy to flip spontaneously, even in a straight line. This one is rock solid, Only time I ever got it in the air was in a serious winf driven chop, in a flat lake or even moderate ripples it just rips and digs.

I do notice slowdown in turns and will be offsetting the rudder.

Also ready to order another set of packs, torn between the 4 cells and maybe trying 5 cells. Dont really feel I need the 5 cells right now but I might in the future... I'm running the packs in parallel so I can easily do 5 cells (running 2 x 2650mah 4 cells now).

Great boat, happy to be back in a fast electric. :)
