New to boating, need some tips fine tuning

Since noone replys in the miss geico thread, decided to post here.

I bought the miss geico brushless boat, im hooked now! Ive been reading a bit and I think I want to do the offset rudder kit( any opinions on it?) and a prop right now.. Not sure which will be good for the stock setup, but in a few weeks I'll be upgrading to a 180 a esc and a motor over 2000kv... Is there a good prop I can buy now that will run good with my later setup?

Also, I have a dx3r and I gues the receiver isn't compatible? Can anyone confirm this? I don't really want to buy a new receiver. Another upgrades I should look into?! Please help a noob out!:)

All this has been gone over 1000 times in the MG thread (probably why nobody answered you).

The dx3r will work with the MR3000, did you try binding it?

Okay I guess I'll have to search around a little more.. I did try to bind it, but wasn't sure if I was doing it correctly.. The receiver is a mr200, not the 3000

No problem. There's a vast amount of information on this site, the MG thread is probably the biggest one lol

Hey Gabe, were in Cali are you located? I'm in norcal. You should try a 642 prop. That prop will get you started with the new motor and esc. I have run a 642 and a 42x55 prop and both were about the same in speeds. What motor are you looking to get? Are you going to run 4S or 5S? I currently run a cc1515 2200kv motor with a T180 esc on 4S and the boat moves pretty good. Is this your first boat?

Hey jason, now this is some good information! I'm in orange county(SoCal).. I actually just ordered a x442 for my stock set up.. Will this increase my speed any? If not I rather have a brass prop rather than the plastic one. I bought a mini wildcat last week just for fun, and the next day I went and got MG haha so yeah it's my first "real" boat. I plan on going with the 180a Seaking and probably a leopard motor, I'm not sure what the numbers mean, but I know what the kv rating is.. I'm running two 2cells which obviously means I'm running a 4 cell setup correct? I plan on also purchasing a set of turnigy 3cells.. I also ordered the offset rudder bracket, color cooling hose, brass bullet nut, and the push button hood locks. I'm in love with this thing, already flipped it twice:)

When you put any new prop on your boat run a few laps then bring it in and check your temps to make sure you don't burn up anything. You can't run 6S on a 2000+kv motor without issues. I have not tried it but would be worried about smokin something. Leopard motors are great motors. I bought my MG about 6 months ago and started reading tons of threads in this section. Make sure to lube your flexshaft a check all bolts everytime you go out. Have fun!
