    What mods.first

Ok so first time running did 32.8 checked with two different gps. stock out of the box calm water running two ProTek 2s 5600mAh 65c lipos. No porpoising with gps in front of motor running flat and smooth. What mods should I start with? Would like to see mid to upper 40s. stock s.s. prop on the way. Dose a offset rudder help a lot?

It's hard to get a stock geico to run in the forties. If you put a big enough prop to achieve that speed it end up burning equipment.
I run a leopard 3674 2200kv with a seaking 180 in one of my geicos with a x642 on 4s2p and it will run in the low fifties all day.
On another one I run a outrunner, lower kv but can swing a bigger prop. Same speed just a different way to gi about it.
If you can pick up a stock impulse or mystic motor it may get you there.
      Good luck.

I believe the size is the same but the the kv on the mystic and impulse is 300kv higher. That's an extra 5000 rpm on 4s.
The esc in the geico is a 45amp and the other two have a 60. Not sure if it would hold up or not. If you ran 4s2p meaning two 4 cells in parallel it would have a better chance of lasting.
You can find guys on here selling the stock set ups quite offer though so you may want to pick a set up. If it doesn't get you the speed you want just re sell them.

Ok I think this is what im going to start with but still need input. Im ordering a new seaking 180a esc to start with and changing prop size that should get me to mid 40s with stock motor. what prop should i go with?

A x642 will get you more speed but you may want to think about a higher kv motor.

Which motor would be a good swap for the stock one? And would it bolt to the same mount?

Your limitation here is your 45a speedo, if you ordered the T180 that's more than enough room for motor upgrades!!

I'd throw this 4 pole motor in it on 4s with an m445 and see how she goes

This is one of the new Turnigy series motors, i have two and they are very good. This is a four pole motor as i mentioned and is effeicient and has quite a bit of torque.

That motor with a 445 should rip.
I like running a higher kv with a smaller prop but with the same results.
You may also think about running 4s2p meaning 2 4s batteries in parallel. Doing so keeps amps down and is much easier on equipment.

                            I'm actually running a 3674 2200kv.
I've found that the smaller lower torque motor keeps I from hopping as much at speed. Jmo
But the 4074 work well too.
I can't stress enough how much running 4s2p helps keep things cool and is easier on equipment. Ask diesels opinion on it. He feels the same way and know his stuff.

I've have my best speeds with a 642 prop but run others depending on what I'm doing. A 442 works better when we are doing five lap grudge racing. The seaking 180 is also what I'm using and haven't had one fail on it own. Only when a motor has failed and taken the esc out.
                              Hope this helps.
