Easier said than done bud - as I dont have a 56" -72" long mystic hull that they use for gassers. Those things are pricey, hard to store and log around. You gotta have a custom trailer for huge gas boats! Lol!

Going for the turbine canopy requires a hull repaint as its almost next to impossible to paint match the stock MG color anyway. While my MG already has a few small scratches, its still presentable ............. but with the 37" Komodo and my leaning over to gassers - its just easier to sell it while its still got the stock, unaltered MG look.
It almost did sell a day ago, but the buyer preferred a mono so he got my Bugatti Concept boat instead.
This friend of mine is building a 2 hectare man-made pond and he'll be putting up 200 commercial stores around the pond. Pond will serve as a water feature for the mall he's building, so he said - whats the use of owning a pond if he doesnt have a rc boat! Lol!!!

Dana was right - it is some sort of putty.
Boat molds are usually 2 (or more) pieces - you layup the hull then layup the top/deck. When you join both molds together, you apply this putty right along the seams.
In our case, after the putty - we add a belt of fiberglass mat/cloth over the putty area all around the boat.
This putty could be made by mixing resin and patching compound - we do add some fiberglass strands/hair to the mix to make it stronger.

My R-42 cat is also built similar with that MM - if you look under the front of the boat, it looks like the top deck is about 1/2" longer than the bottom with that putty material showing.

Thats okay Jerry - they hold the license to that anyway. From the looks of now having 3 MG sizes, they're probably maximizing their license fee.
Similar to their maximizing the 29" Cat hull molds - MG, Mystic and now BJ29.

yeah i hear that, well i think the little 17'' with the wright guts could be a fun little guy, something small and simple to take to the lake and not have to carry all the big guys!! For 119.00 seems cheap for alittle fun boat..

Ill sell some more boats before adding another FE. Thou, I have tons of FE stuff that would fit the MG17. Probably just another MG hull and canopy via Phils.
Its abs plastic thou - cant really say I like that material.

                    This seems interesting thou:

That design I believe was first released by Graupner. They are crazy fast and turns on a dime! A 3000kv 28size brushless motor on 3S and 30mm prop shoud do the trick!

Looks good Mac,those going to our friend Scott? The overhang mod will allow for more traditional/standard stingers to be mounted.

Yeah, those will go to Scott and Ray.

I dont wanna ruin your build thread by posting my very amateurish photoshop skills, so I will post these here instead. With 2 pages shy of hitting 100 - I thought this thread might need the boost anyway!
I know your looking for some "komodo" paint schemes, so I attempted to do some that hopefully might spark something in that artistic noggin of yours! Lol!!

                              Just samples................
