I read the Miss Geico Sticky and about everyother thread I could find to find all my answers. There is so much info in this section. One of the first mods I did was blueprint the sponsons.

Another mod is offsetting the rudder, also m445 with bottom of strut level with bottom of sponsons is a good starting point

Again, offsetting the rudder has not been proven to do anything to this hull. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.

Based on what? What does "proven" mean? Not sure it "proves" anything but my Geico is 11 laps ahead of my nearest competitor on the season. I'm ahead of an H&M No Step 3 mono that handles like it's on rails.

Offset the rudder. It absolutely does help. That's why the Mystic comes with the rudder offset from the factory.

I agree with ts davis, it helped with my MG but the best thing u can do is blue print the hull, also take your time with cell placement and strut height, another thing which is a must is putting foam into the sponsons helps stop the hull from splitting after a hard crash, and get one of tiquemens hatch's as the standard one sucks.
But really just follow darin's prep thread, you won't be dissapointed.

Based on the fact that Darin Jordan made mention of this on other threads. Look for it on this forum. The Mystic came with an offset rudder to eliminate prop wash. Also many members who have made the modification have mentioned that it does nothing for the boat, as most people try and get rid of the "wha, wha" this way. It may make for better turning towards the right and eliminate the prop wash on the rudder if you are racing, but for average recreational usage it makes no difference. There have been plenty of before and after tests. Everyone agrees to not see a difference, from what I have read.

Not looking to start a pissing match. Just stating what other have reported.

Blue printing consists of making sure you don't have any concaved area's on the sponson ride pad bottom's use bondo to level these out, while you are doing this make sure all the ride pads touch your setup board or flat surface because if say the middle ride pad is not touching when the other 2 are this will make it porpoise, also make sure the sponsons are square along the inside and out side edges, square off any rounded corners, pay attention to the rear of the ride pads nice sharp edges does make a difference. Its a pain in the butt but well worth the effort imo. Mine still has a tiny bit of wahwah but I am still playing with cell placement and things.
Hope this helps you, but darin explains it in detail in his race prep thread.

For average recreational boating why do anything to it?

                      We most know different everyones.

Chiefy 44 what kind of battery connectors do you use with the 4074 2200kv t-180 4s2p set up? My ec5 connectors always melt the solder out with this same exact setup using a m445 prop.

I use 5.5mm connectors, make my own Y connections with similar connectors, I must be very lucky as I have not had any solder joints melt anywhere, I do reconmend using a good iron I run mine at 700 deg and also use flux on every joint, this way works for me.
