    Im melting help

Running 1800kv Stiletto motor and esc
    x642 sharpened and balanced
    high timing
    2 -Turnigy nano-tech 4500mah 4S 45~90C
    5.5mm on all
best time todate is 48.1 up from when we made our video
Having no heat issues with the esc ,motor or batteries
all are under 135 even after 6-7 minute run wide open
I im having heat issues with the connections between esc and motor 195
I changed them out to 5.5mm witch has made no change even had 2 desolder

So should I move the esc up front shorten the esc wires and direct solder them together to motor wires no connectors
or what do you have in mind
Hate to run low timing and lose almost 9mph just to keep the conection cool when the rest of the system is up to it
the ones that have come lose have both been on the motor side
hot enough to melt wire marks in my gps

firstly i will say, cut run times down, and dont run it to the lvc. also maybe get away from the x642 prop and try a 1.4 pitch like an m440 or x442 to start….jmo

[QUOTE=dana;352319]firstly i will say, cut run times down, and dont run it to the lvc
im not at lvc at 6-7 i can run about 10-11 before lvc kicks in and its set to high so i still have alot left as far as batterys just dont understand why motor ans esc are ok temp and conections are smokin

Interestingly enough, the same setup (but in my Stilletto) was a similar issue. With me though its my Bat to ESC connectors that are heating up crazy and desoldering (motor wires are on the outside exposed on the Stilletto so that may be why they are cooler).

How well can you solder? Maybe the solder joints are crappy causing higher resistence,

Keep run times to around 3-4min with your setup.. If you want speed you don't get to run it as long, if you want time you have to give up speed. After a lot of testing and soldering I have finally given in to this idea.. I have not tried it but I would assume getting some bigger wires between the motor and esc would help a lot.. I can say it did help with reduce heat on my battery connections to the ESC.

I thought pretty well, but I decided to try to use my torch instead of my solder iron to put them on the second time that way I know I had enough heat and wasn’t getting cold solder joint but still same outcome

so should I cut them off short as i can and still splice on wire and then use #8 or 6 instead of the small wire on them and do i direct solder the wires or just solder the joints and put connectors back on

I think dana gave you the probable answer already to the heat issue. Also, the 642 is probably contributing to the hop.

I also agree with dana I would try a m445 I use this prop and never get a heat problem
