    teflon liner?

I received a new hull and when I place the strut on, the Teflon liner pushes up about 1/4 in out of top it is still about 1/8 away from the collets but wonder on full throttle if this may rub creating drag on motor. Should I cut it back to flush with top or is this normal the old hull it didn’t show at all

Trim the teflon so it runs about 1/8" outside the stuffing tube.

remove the liner, if there is to much play in the stuffing tube, flex shaft to stuffing tube, try replacing the tube with a slightly smaller one
and use ample amounts of lube, I don't use a liner on my BJ and I'm going to remove it on my UL-1 also.
gassers and nitro guys don't use liners, what good are they? If the stuffing tube is the right size, not to big or small in ID the shaft should not coil or twist and in the end not create drag,
take your flex shaft to ACE hardware and fit it to some k&s tubing for proper fit, sorry I don't know the proper size off the top of my head so I just do what I said and do what you think is best.
        test,test,test.
