Where to mount extra water pick up tube ?

Where is the best place to mount an extra water pick up tube ? I want to supply the 4074 motor and 180a esc with seperate water flow.

You could mount one on the transom or check out cooling tips on ose, like in hull water pickups, I did this on my BJ and it works well.

Does it not create drag on the side it is placed. Do you need to add one both sides of transom so boat runs straight

I have one of those I havent used yet. I was thinking about buying a 2nd one, and mount them both to do away with the rudder pickup and hose. I might mount one on each side underneath the boat behind the end of each sponson. They would pipe directly inside the hull thru the overhanging back of the boat that exceeds past the sponsons. This would give good flow and hide the hoses from sight for a cleaner look.

i vote you just use the factory rudder pickup and go inside the hull and put a Y-splitter inthe water tube so you can run one to the motor and one to the esc so they both get fresh cool water!!! Well thats what i plan on doing..

But if you put a y in the line the water goes to least restriction so one side may flow great and the other gets very little.even 3 inches of line longer on one side makes great differance in flow.

Yeah but if you think about it theres alot of flow going threw there and also originaly the water flows from pickup to esc then worm to motor then wormer out the side of the hull so if it goes pickup to Y to esc first probly and then alittle slack from Y to the motor but cool water instead of worm from esc then wouldnt it seem beter,,,, well thats just my thoughts on it,, right now im waiting for my Y's to come in the mail and im going to try it maybe this weekend!!!!
