    LIPO cells

So if I take 4 2c 7.2-volt lipo packs, parallel 2 each side of the boat and then series the 2 together this is still considered 4 cells, just longer run times. Is this correct or is this considered 8 cell any drawback to this versus 4c packs as I already have 8 2c packs

    I assume you meant 2S, not 2C.

Otherwise you are correct as the overall voltage is 14.8 V. The only drawback is that you are going to have a lot of connections, each causing resistance and heat...in otherwords, more spots for potential failures.

Why not parallel 2 4s packs?
