Hey Fellas,
I posted here the other day about radio issues, turns out all i had to do was re-bind, so now everything is fine. Anyway, i thought i would just post some of my progress after a holiday weekend of testing setups. I ran 3 props this weekend, and was pretty pleased with the results. The x642 got to 38.8, the 42x55 got to 40.5, and the m445 went 44.3. I was running hyperion 45c 5000 packs (2s1p) and the stock motor with an SK 180 speedo. These results are early morning/late evening runs when our smallish lake (120 square acres) is glass. I messed around with battery placement and strut height all weekend, and i think i have her pretty dialed now. I still have a little bounce at full throttle, but i have the strut pretty low to help out with top end. I have found the best place for these batteries in my hull is hanging off the back of the trays by about 1/2'' or so, but i have my esc mounted in the front port side of the wooden radio tray (in order to run the shortest possible motor wires), so that changes the COG a bit from stock. I don't think it matters, but i had the esc timing at 11.25 degrees. i messed around with the timing before i had my garmin to test for speed, and i never noticed any difference with the timing turned up/down. Also, i have a Kinetic offset rudder (v2) that i bought a few weeks ago. I know there are mixed reviews on here about it, and my experience is that you can get rid off the bounce without it. I am new at FE boating and this is my first boat, all i did was try diifferent battery placement and strut levels until i wasn't bouncing anymore without running too wet either. I might install it just to see how it affects the handling/stability of the boat, but i am happy running without it. If anyone is interested i will post some video/pics. up here soon. I'd be interested to know whether my results seem above/below average with my setup, so if anyone cares to post...
