    Newbie ms geico esc question

This is hard to explain, bare with me. When i got my ms geico I was running nmh batterys. I recently bought a few lipos. I bought the proboat programmer and programmed the esc for lipos but i still had the nmh batterys in the boat to see if it worked. My throttle didnt respond but steering did. I hooked up the lipos and same thing, steering but no throttle response. I think I then hooked up the proboat programmer again and then I tried the lipos first, now it works...Does this make sence?
Do you need to reprogam the esc everytime if u wana switch between lipos and nmh?

I've found recently that some esc do require a re-tune to certain packs and pack sizes 2s,3s ,4s 6s's etc, so this may be the case with yours, i recently purchased a swordfish 120 that has Automatic battery detection, have you checked that you esc has a 'auto' detect mode?
It may be that you need to set the esc to auto to stop this problem, if not then using the program card will be the only way to continue with your practise.

You should re-program when switching between Nimh and Lipo. I havent personally tried running one when its set to the other, so Im not sure if thats why your th was not responding, or if was something else ie, throttle plug backwards etc.
