    MG Radio Issue?

    Hey Guys,
I am relatively new to the world of FE Boating, but have been racing 1/8 and 1/10 offroad for about 6 years. This is my first post here, but i did all my research here before (and after) i bought my MG. This site has been a wealth of info for me, and i find myself loging in almost every day. I am running my MG with a SK 180, stock motor, x642 on 4s (hyp 5000's), and so far am happy with this set up. I should have a few more props coming from Chuck in my mailbox today for the holiday weekend though. So there's my back up... My problem is that sometimes when the boat flips over, The motor just starts spinning with no throttle input. Sometimes it can take me a few minutes to get to the boat and flip it back over, but this never happens unless the boat is upside down in the water. Im guessing that this is due to signal issues with the antena under water. I thought that when i calibrated the throttle that it was some kind of failsafe to protect against this issue. Should i ditch the spektrum and just get a tactic system or what?

i use the spektrum and never had a problem like that maybe you could try and rebind it and set your fail safe's again

Which Spektrum radio are you using? You should be able to set the failsafe on any of them ( throttle off and rudder straight) - did you do so with yours? If you are using a car radio you may experience range issues, the marine version radios are better for boats. Some guys get by okay, some do not. I'd recommend getting a marine version Spektrum (if you do not have one now) or going with another radio.

          Thanks guys,
I'm gonna re-bind and check it out in the morning. I am using the probaot rtr rx/tx. My spektrum dx3s won't bind to the marine rx because its an older dx3s w/o the marine logo on it. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Good news is Chucks package arrived just in time so I have 3 b/s/p props to try out too. Just got a garmin fortrex 301 to test my speed, so looking forward to using that too. I will throw some info up here tomorrow night.
