2200 castle motor, what battery should i run?

I have a 2200 castle motor with a 180 turnigy esc installed in my mg. I was told to get 6s batteries, is this right? I do have a 440 brass prop also. I went to another local shop today and was told I should only run 4s because the 6s ( 2 3s) would blow the motor, is this true????

you will blow your esc trust me been there done it.
run it on 4s you will have ample power/speed and some to spare the 2200 castle revs like crazy.

These are the batteries I'm using. But I cut the 5.5 bullet conectors off them and put on traxxas style plugs I don't suggest you do that as it is a tricky thing to do.
