To be honest, I can't tell you why. I think the c rating always stays the same no matter what. Hopefully someone will come in and explain it.

I do agree, a 2p set up will be beneficial for him.

Well I guess they still only discharge at 40c each.... It's just spread out more

I've been told as well that c rating does not double in a parallel set up. However 2p is a huge help on your batteries in a demanding set up such as this.

One last question if i switched to 8mm bullets for the batteries would this cut down the heat on my battery connections. Currently using ec5 connectors that melt a wire out of solder connection and splashes solder all over the inside of the boat every time I drive about mid way through the packs. Temps are always greater than 200 degrees. Thay didn't get this hot when i ran feigo 8xl 2050 but that motor was slower. Just dont know what to do.

A lipo pack that is rated at 40C is capable of sustained current drain without damage of 40 times its capacity. For example a 40C pack of 5000mah capacity should be capable of delivering a constant 40C x 5 amps = 200 amps. If you parallel couple them you get 40C x 5 amps x 2 = 400 amps. You share the current load between the two packs.

                Ørjan.

Just a thought, but would using larger gauge wiring help here?... Also maybe shorten the length?.....
