Lipos wont work in my MG....

Hi all me and my friend just both got the MG boats and there are great , he ran his with lipos right out of the box and his ran just find, i ran nimhs and mine and it also ran great . I programed mine to the same as his and added my lipos same size but diff make and as soon as we drop it in the water it ran for one second and stops. We than tried my lipos in his MG and it ran great . This is the first run on these lipos , there are 7.4 5000 mah tringy packs..Any ideas .Thanks chad..

Is that only 1 11.1v battery or did you use 2 11.1v batteries? If you ran 2 you blew your esc, if you tried just one with the lvc turned on then it's triggering the lvc. Both cases are operater error for running the stock esc out of the recommened specs.

sorry they are 7.4 2 cell lipos , i forgot to say that the servo jerks also with the lipos....

Hmm, whats the c rating on the lipos? Are they quality packs? Do you get any response now when you plug them in? It seems really odd for it to just stop, unless like diesel said you got a blown ESC

- Can you control the steering?
- With both sets of batts in your MG it only runs for 1 second?
- Do you have throttle with the boat out of the water, DONT RUN IT FULL THROTTLE JUST TAP THE THROTTLE A FEW TIMES TO SEE IF IT WORKS?
- Is the rx flashing red or a steady red?

Yes my friends boat has steering and the. Throttle worked but when put it in the water it only ran for a second or two. He still had steering but no throttle. We pulled his lipo's and put them in my MG and it ran fine. He ran his boat 10 minutes before that with the nimh batteries and it ran fine with them. Thx for any help guys

- When you run the 10ms before (which is a long time in FE), was that at full throttle most of the time or half throttle most of the time?

- Check ALL the solder joints really REALLY well even on the batteries.
- Try and re-program the esc
- Check the on/off switch make sure nothing is wrong with it
- Check the cooling through the esc, the pb esc's sometimes have bad flow so it's possible it didn't get good enough flow and over-heated

We ran it with the nimh battery's for around 6 mins at near to full throttle i even check the temp when done and it was 100 on seed control and 95 on motor..

Well i called horizon today and there just sending me out a new speed control , wow what great service . That blows away traxxas...
