    5.5mm Bullet Connectors?

Do I need to switch the deans connectors to 5.5mm bullets? Ive seen this is strongly suggested a few places but Im just getting started.

Im looking to order a my own Ms Geico as soon as I get everything in order and ready to run (pun intended)

If I really do need the 5.5mm bullets can someone show me/tell me precisely how to do it? And where to get them? (Id rather not order from HK and wait a month)

Im Just dipping my toes into FE boats but it looks like alotta fun!

Do you need to swtich? Right off the bat no... but the problem is as deans are used theyre start to wear and therefore build up resistance (in which they already are a bad connector in comparison to a proper bullet). So eventually yes you'll need to switch.

You can buy bullet connectors here, amazon.com, or on Janus' site here http://kintecracing.com/Electrical.html

There are also a bunch of places you can find them by searching google.

Best way I've found to solder a bullet connector is through using a fine propane torch. A perferred method is a nice soldering gun... Just make sure the ends of your wires are "tinned" meaning they have solder on them. Then add a little solder into the bullet connector and get that to melt. Let it sit, then heat it up again and dab the end of your wire in, then push it in and allow it to sit. You should feel a good strong connection. My soldering gun sucks so I use a torch for the big projects, works just as well as long as you use a fine point and don't fry your wires, gotta be careful with that method.

            Alright thanks.

Now I need a charger.. I think. I have one of these:

            http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=7637

And I think that'll do the job but do I need to charge it and then balance it? And can I leave it alone or do I have to watch constantly?

Yes, that won't do... youll have to time your charge everytime with that one... it's better to just buy a charger/balancer, you don't really want to go cheap (something like this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=15165) when youre charging lipos... you'll want a decent quality charger http://search.horizonhobby.com/index...d=12FF5C836FAB

I personally use the first charger http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=DYN4066 and it works wonderful. Lipos are awesome and they can be bad.. don't go for less because when youre packs get destroyed or even worse... blow up you'll be sorry
