    Stock motor timing

Is there any difference between the 'hard & soft' timing explained in the ESC manual and the 'high & low' timing with the programming module?
Should I set both or does the programming module do it all?

The only time I found an issue with this was using my CC outrunner with the stock esc. On power up it would just run, then I had to do the full throttle on plug in and the problem went away. I also run on High timing. You can do it if you want. Won't hurt anything. Big thing is make sure you use the module to set timinig to high.

Thanks Diesel, Do you disconnect the motor to do the full throttle on plug in? Sounds like it will run full throttle for the 5 seconds.

Once you here the beeps let go and go to neutral it won't run. In my case the motor stopped running

To be honest not a whole lot of people fool with that. Mostly everyone just uses the module on the timing. Like I said I did it because I had a problem with my outrunner going full throttle on power up and once I did it the problem went away. Not sure if the module does both or not. I just know what worked for me. I think I maybe one of the few people on this forum still using the stock esc lol.

Worked fine. Motor only just came to life (no where near full throttle) and then stopped. Got confirmation of hard timing after disconnecting & reconnecting the batteries. We'll see if this makes any difference latter, as it looks like its calming down for a run.

Had a nice run. But found no difference. Therefore I conclude that HIGH timing & HARD timingare one and the same. Just can't break the 40 mph barrier (39.3 mph) with M445 prop done right.

I set that Stiletto I had up with a CC1512 1800kv. Looking at the video tunnelvision got looks like a good choice. Leopard makes a 4068 1800kv i believe, I think that might be a good choice. Or slap that stock mg motor in the stiletto and run it on 5s she would hull then. JMO

I use to run the stock stiletto motor in a mg lol... Do a system swap. lol

So set them both at 15* Thanks. I tried to run a fiego 8xl 2050 on 5s trying to keep up with some gas boats and it froze solid, not a good idea
