    Replacing prop bushing

    Hi,

My MG performance has degraded, is erratic and sometimes the prop makes a howling noise, vibrating the stern hardware loose. I believe the stock prop bushing is the cause of the problem and want to replace it with a better, more serviceable bushing, but have not figured how to remove it. Any ideas on how to remove the prop bushing from the strut?

if your not gonna use the bushing again slide a punch in the front end catch the lip and drive it out, kintec has a replacement I believe BUT the strut is an odd ball in size so regular standard size brass will not fit correctly. Im fixing that problem on mine, replaced the strut, removed the stuffing tube replacing it with a stuffing box and tube, actually waiting on the glass to cure as i type lol

      Hi,

      Thanks for your response, advice.
I damaged the strut trying to get the bushing out.
I think I'll look for a bearing based strut as a replacement.
