    Miss Geico hop up advice

Looking to get 50 mph out of her, she is bone stock right now. What would be the most cost effective reliable way to achieve this? Can I use stock motor and esc and just upgrade batt and prop, or should I purchase a 120 amp or better esc? If you can give me exact specs that are recommended that would be great. Thanks

swoopo, check the neighboring threads, plenty of info on how to achieve 50 there. Youre looking to upgrade to either a 5s or 6s lipo, you'll need a new esc either a 120 or 180 amp. Also will need a higher KV motor. If you get a high discharge 5s lipo setup you can get close to 50 with an x642 and the stock esc.

I replaced the stock esc with a turnigy 180 and run a SS 230 s/b by dasboata and my GPS read 47 mph on 40c 5000 mah 5s zippy's. I also run a kintec off set rudder. I think with a little more ajustment I can hit 50. Also replace all connectors to 5.5 bullets. This was on the stock motor, you don't need a new motor just a good set up.

Anyone know who stocks these in US? The set up i have decided to run is 180ESC, (2) 6s 5000 mah turnigy 35c lipo's, 42x55 grim racer prop on stock motor for now. does anyone see any problems with that set up?

          Ah 2 6s lipos? You mean either 2 2s or 2 3s?

As far as I know the only place to grab the 180s is hobbypartz.com or hobbyking.com or other chinese sites... Steve is out of them at the moment (stinky). Thats a good setup if the 2 6s batteries is an error (are you running them in seris or parallel?) otherwise youll hit the moon with that setup... then it'll blow up

OK forgive me, im trying to educate myself through the forums for this is my first brushless set up. Right now i run (2) 2S, 30C, 5000mah venom hard pack lipo's with a 42x55 grim racer prop, esc and motor are stock, from what i gathered through the forums is install a 180 ESC, and bump the battiers too (2) 6s packs, is this wrong? Am i running 4S total right now beacuse i have (2) packs? So if i bumped too (2) 3S, 5000 mah, 30C lipo's that would mean im running a total of 6S? sorry! Thanks for the help!

Ok to answer your battery question...

If youre running them in seris (like the stock setup) you'll be doubling the voltage... so two 6s lipos gives you a 12s lipo without increasing mah. This setup would destroy your esc (as it is only rated to go to 6s). In parallel you would maintain the 6s but double the mah rating.

              See this here:

For more info on setups and such check out the tips section on the main OSE page... you can also browse my website as I have been collecting and putting forth basic information on rc setups here: https://sites.google.com/site/jac441...nics-batts-etc

You either want 2 3s packs to give you 6s in seris or a 2s and a 3s pack to give you 5s. Most of the users on here run 5s at around 50 mph... that is dependent on the motor, battery discharge rate, prop, and esc.

Don't apologize for asking questions! Keep asking them its the only way we learn and get better, it's a community to help each other!

              Happy to help

FYI theres alot of little things youll have to do as well... like switching the stock dean connections over to 5.5 bullets, and deciding whether to use a separate battery pack or not. Ask away!

Ok now i get it, i might go with 45C lipos from John's battieres i found on ebay, says you can get 45mph plus out of then and its (2) 2S packs 5000mah, i can use all stock componets. Maybe that with the 42x55 prop will get me close to 50mph? Thanks for the help!

                    Mmm...

I saw those batteries... call me skeptical, I question all of those "custom" battery packs, plus I've never seen anyone us them... maybe someone can pipe up who has used them? Theyre also pretty darn expensive... shop around a bit before you pull the trigger! Plenty of options out there

Also, read through all the information... With youre setup you'll have to watch temps on the stock esc

LOL...May be wishfull thinking..Your just not gonna hit 50mph on 4s..Not with the stock electrics.Youll barely get even close to 50 on 5s..Ive tried it all..If you want to go faster your just gonna have to either run on 5s or get a different esc and motor..Thats just it..

What prop is recommended on 4s and 5s with the stock esc and motor on MG? (pls include brand and spec)
