    Miss geico steering sevo

    Anyone blow a steering servo on the geico yet?.....seems i did on flip over... Moves when powered but wont respond to commands...installed a replacement and works fine....didnt hit anything in water cept water

      May have stripped the gears when the rudder smacked the water.

        yup !! turn on the rx and see if you here the motor is running in the servo ,,,,,you can also grab the rudder and wiggle it you will feel broken gears right away

          it does have some funk going on when its powered up like binding, no power it moves pretty freely but still feels wrong, dont think it got any water in it cause the hull has the tupperware lid and was pretty dry inside....it did some nasty skips across water a few times, first hit was rear of boat and enough to knock one battery tray out and pulled hatch lock out also. But the lid lives and floated!!!!!!!!!

                        mine is still running nice and smooth even after a complete submersion last sunday. That is too bad, maybe it was something to do with the impact, though i've crashed mine pretty hard a few times.

                              Guys, I've had problems with servos before... but before you deem them useless, if you aren't sure that it's a stripped gear or if it has water in it, try drying it out first... I've used the old rice bag trick and while usually when your servo is wet and ruined its gone for good... I have gotten an old servo back once (thats like once out of like 6 servos but still...). Its a good think to check!
