Good Batteries

New to electric boats, just purchased mg new, now i'm looking for good batteries and a good charger for them. def looking for lipo batts dual 2s for now and upgrade later boat is for my son but want batts to last. Any ino would be great dont want to buy crap and not enjoy boat.

David, I'm new to boating rc, I finally decided on two Hyperion G3 vx 5000 mah 2s 7.4v 35c lipo battery packs and eos720Hyperion charger for my MG this summer, can charge at 5c about 15 minutes, 95% charge , i'd rather run the boat , than wait 2 hours to charge batteries.

Also only discharge lipos down no lower than 80% of capacity if you want them to last..I get about a 4 minute run with twin 5000 40c lipo packs..I got a 106b Icharger from HK and it works great! also..I charge my lipos at 1c..This helps with the life as well..Even though they say you can charge up to 5c I never go over 1c..This is a good rule of thumb to go by..Ive been flying large electric helis for years and my lipo packs seem to last longer than everyone else says..

scrpio, Check out these batteries... They'll give you a nice solid runtime and are decent batts.

Also if you really want to buy some really high quality lipos, check out the suggested dynamite lipos and the charger for them, theyre hard case and great quality... much more expensive but they will last and have a 25c discharge rate.. so about the standard lipos for just running around on the pond.

Thanks for the information probably a dumb question i've saw discarge rates at 25c and 40c is it better to get a higher rate or does cause problems if rate is too high trying to get most info possible about lipos that i can before i purchase the wrong batts and charger

The higher C discharge rating, the better the pack is..It wont hurt a thing getting 40c packs..It will actually help you..Thats all I run is the 40c packs in my FE boats..

Now i need a charger for them and of course have no clue where to start too many to choose from and dont really kn ow what i'm looking for I want something i can charge multiple batts at a time and ac/dc power should i stick with same brand as batteries? everything where i'm at runs gas. My son is a little too young for that any help would be appreciated

ok i use turnigy nano-techs 5000 and they are awesome 45-90c and i charge them with hitec x4, i also just charge at 1c to make the bats last longer, i never discharge them i use them then set charger to the store charge prog and thats it never had a problem with my batteries yet,
