    High Quality 2S Lipo packs.

Looking for some new Lipo packs to run with my BJ26. I'm now using http://www.yuntong-batt.com/v2007/prodisplay.php?id=229 but not sure if they are any good, what do you guys think?

    The new packs must be:
    2S Lipo
    Min 4500Mah / Max 6000Mah
At least 25C (Looking for some feedback here, is it necessary with that "C" that high or?)
    Shipping to Norway
Max 50$ per pack or so.

    Thnx

"High Quality" and "$50 per pack" do not go together, IMO anyway. For a stock BJ26 you don't need 25C, but the higher the "C" rating the better for performance and run time.

Several members of our club are running Rhino packs from Hobby King. I would not call them "high quality" but they seem to be very serviceable for low amp draw applications. They do meet your price point.

        The Rhino's are sold out.
What about some Polyquest 2S 5400Mah 20C packs?

A bit more pricy than the Rhino's but are they worth it?
They also have plenty in stock.

I run these in my boats. They've got heaps of punch for me. But get a second opinion as I only have cheap Turborix packs to compare them to which I run in my scale boats.

                    I'm have two options now:

                    PolyQuest 20C 5400Mah @ 74$
                    MaxAmps 30C 3250Mah @ 75$

Would there be a noticeable differnce in speed running the MaxAmps, or is the PQ just as good, for a Stock Bj with X442??

I like the runtime i would get with the PQ, but if the Maxamps are faster i would rather have them, considering that i allready have about 20min of runtime with my 5000mah packs now.

                      Hello Eivand,

Good find. If you are running the stock setup, I myself, would go with the PolyQuests. As this is not a high amp draw application and you did express the desire for longer runtimes. The PolyQuests seem to have alot of positive reviews. I use them myself. Some suggest the minimum for the bj26 is 4000mah and 20C battery ratings. In either case, Always check the temps on the motor, esc, and batteries.

I had a set of 4 Tunergy 5000 mah, they ran well for about 4 months. Total of 10 cycles tops and now I can't get the first cell to charge higher than 2.8 volts and the second is at 4.20 volts, so charger is showing full. I have charge balanced every time and I charge balance store every time before putting away, also tried to balance with a flight power balancer but no luck. I would not recomend the Tunergy even though they are cheap. I have now got 4 paper weights. I just ordered Air Thunders which have over discharge protection in them, I have used them in Helis for a long time but was too cheap to buy them for the boat. Will let you know how it works out. They are doing free shiping right now for orders over $100.00.

This is what they say on their web site:

When it comes to Li-Poly batteries, there are a lot of brands on the market. Most of the products being sold today however, are based on old technology that has limited capacity, low current throughput, and easily damaged by over-discharging. Our batteries are at the cutting edge of the Li-poly technology with the following key features:

                        •25C high-current throughput
                        •2200 to 5000mAh high capacity
                        •Low Operating Temperature-<50-60°C
                        •Never over-heat or deform even after over-discharging (an industrial-first)

Among the key features of AirThunder batteries is the ability to withstand over-discharging. Over-discharging has been a major issue with conventional Li-poly technology as it leads to over-heating, deformation, and degradation of the battery. Model aircraft owners are often advised to time their operation to avoid detrimental effects. Our proprietary formulation and packaging technology has circumvented such problems, allowing the battery to be safely discharged to low volt. This is an industrial-first; a true breakthrough in Li-poly technology. In addition, our battery maintains its voltage till the very end of the discharge cycle. This means you can fully enjoy your flying experience worry-free.

All our batteries are manufactured in ISO9001:2000-certified facilities to ensure the highest quality, and are backed by our 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee and 90-day manufacturing defect warranty.

I'm still waiting on my zippy flightmax from hobbyking 5000mah with a 40c discharge. 50c burst for only 29.95 ea. so I ordered 4.
these are 2s1p I'm not sure about the 1p, I know i'ts is parallel but what i don't know is how one cell can be in series and the other in parallel, any light on this set up would be great knowledge.
I do know that when in parallel you get better run times but not the speed I' m
getting any insight on this battery would be great.

by 1p, they mean that each cell is 3.7volts 5000mah. So by having 2s1p, you have 7.4volts 5000mah, built out of 2 cells.

If they were 7.4volts 5000mah, but 2s2p, that would mean you have a total of 4 cells in that pack. The 4 cells would be 3.7volts, 2500mah each.

                            clear?
