    Finally bought myself a BlackJack

    Hey guys,

Just thought I'd let you all know I finally decided to buy myself a BlackJack 26 Brushless :)

I'm taking it out in about 15mins for her maiden voyage :D

As soon as I come back I'll be sticking in my Spektrum DX3 and a faster/stronger servo.

Nothing to exciting but here are the pics,

I have some 4000mah 7.4v 15C Lipo batteries which I want to use, which I make to be 60amp constant. Are they going to be suitable for this boat in stock form?

    Thanks,
    Jonny

Jonny, you should have placed the Spectrum DX3 first not later. Those batteries will not cut it. Also state the battery brand, that can make a huge difference

      Hey Dougie,

Just got the DX3 in now, hopefully it has enough range because the receiver aerial hardly any pokes out the cowl/hatch.

I thought my 60amp batteries would be okay, can you clarify as to why they won't be adequate? I thought the ESC had 45amp continuous, but 100+ peak current draw, the batteries have 15c - 60amp continuous 30c peak which is 120amps.

What are the must have mods for the blackjack? I imagine Fullers Cat hardware and a CF prop?

      Thanks,
      Jonny

Spekky RX and Ace DS1015 Servo in, and anoth picture on the box

Eagle eyed builders will notice my mistake with the servo, rectified now though

The servo is most likely overkill, 200oz .10 transit, but it has rubber gaskets so is very well sealed.

Again, what baterry manufacturer. You have purchased a not bad boat for upgrades. The weak points are the drive system. I also learnt on an RTR electric boat and tried to upgrade the system and it was a waste of money but a learning experience.

Sorry, didn't see you asked for the battery manufacturer in your previous post.

The batteries are made by WinForce, just cheap chinese imports but they are apparently quite good. I may just sell them and buy myself another 5000mah 25c pack which I used in my touring car to be on the safe side.

I'm running these Zippy in my BJ26, and they are working as well as my name brand TP packs. Also cheaper too.
