    Question?

I just put a balloon over my receiver and plugged in the batteries and bench tested in my garage...hit the throttle a couple times and a few seconds later the motor goes into high gear on it's own? Why is this?

Could you describe the setup you are using? The variables will help narrow down what could be happening. It will be helpful to include the following information:

      Radio system:
      BEC? or Batteries? for receiver:
      Batteries:
      ESC:
      etc. etc.

did you set your failsafe for the receiver when you bound it to the transmitter? Also, did you play around with any adjustments after you bound them and set the failsafe?

I had the same issue in my e-maxx a while back. The BEC was dropping power, which kicks the receiver into failsafe mode. My failsafe was set as full reverse. You can imagine the outcome.

Anyhoo, try binding your tx and rx again, be sure not to touch any controls.

Now that I think about it I think I had the throttle in the last time I rebinded...I'll rebind again..
