    motor runs hot?

    Hi guys,
    I'm running my bj26 with fuller's hardware, stock esc, an octura x640 prop s&b, 2x2s1p 5000 mah lipo's and feigao 540 11L motor 2200 kv.
The esc and lipo's temp rated about 40c after a long run, but the motor rated about 60-65c. i don't think that i run the boat too wet at all and i'm using the new 55 mm cooling jacket for the motor and the water flows very well through it.
The only reason that i can think of is that the esc is rated 45 amps and the motor rated about 55 amps.
    Can anyone please advise?

You are right at the top safe temperature for the motor. The first question is, how long is "a long run"? You are running too large a prop for extended running with that motor, in fact it is probably too large for racing that hull. You will get lower temperatures, and perhaps higher speeds, with an x438 or x440. The 11L is really more suited to a hydro on 4S rather than a cat with a shallow tunnel. An XL-sized motor would have given you a larger mass to handle the temperatures and more torque to swing the larger prop. Have you GPS'd the model?

The run time was about 10-12 min on 4s. the boat just hit 50 mph.
Is a 40 mm dia prop too big for the bj26.
Do you think that if i'll use an etti 150 amps esc for exp it will solve the over heating problem or should i take the prop a couple of mm up?
      Thanks again.

Do you guys think it's better to try out the x637 prop or maybe the x438 if the motor runs too hot?
        Pls assist?

No...you are pushing it too hard and that is a looooonnng run. Drop back to the 438/440 as Jay stated....you can either go fast in short durations and heat thing up (or burn them up) or longer times and speeds. You will find most BL motors run faster when you let them get to their most effic area. So basically you can go as fast or sometime faster when gaining extra rpm.

You can also bring the prop/strut up to gain some rpm...less prop in the water.

Bigger prop than he is using now. You might just stick with your 640 and run only 5 minutes if you do not want to drop the size. 4 series props are better with S/L motors.

The M props are nice as they have some tongue already removed.
