tks the problem i'am having is at half throttle the boat shuts off
it's a very common problem with this boat. Get yourself the ESC programming card, and reprogram it for low cutoff. From the factory it's set to high cutoff, so when you get on the throttle, there's enough of a voltage drop to simulate dead batteries. Going to low cutoff will recify this problem.
the boat will not go full throttle off the start it just shuts down, is it in the throttle program
no it's the cutoff voltage. right now it's set to "high cutoff". you need to set it to "low cutoff". You need to purchase a programming card (PRB3311), and follow the included instructions to set the cutoff voltage to "low"
lipos are a good idea, just be safe with em. Once you go lipo, then you will have to change the cutoff voltage back to "high cutoff". If you plan on going lipo, then you need the programming card regardless so you can change the battery type to "lipo".
Go with 2x 2s packs, 80amps+ continuous discharge is a nice safe bet. Personally I am on Rhino 2s, 4900mah packs. 20c/30c discharge.
you want 2s. Make sure you are ready to go with lipos, and invest in a good charger. And also make sure to read up on them EXTENSIVELY as they can be quite dangerous if you don't treat them right.
