    Teflon liner trick

HEY FOR ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE TROUBLES FITTING A NEW TEFLON LINER IN YOUR BLACKJACK'S STOCK STUFFING TUBE OR ANY BOATS STUFFING TUBE AT THAT. I WAS AT RAY FULLERS HOUSE/SHOP YESTERDAY, AND PERSENTED HIM MY PROBLEM, WHICH MANY SEEM TO HAVE (SEEING ALOT OF POSTS ABOUT HAVING TO SAND THE TEFLON OR USE CARBON RODS TO GET IT THRU) HEY ASSURED IT WOULDNT FIT UP THE TUBE, THEN HE WALKED OVER TO HIS VISE- CLAMPED ONE END IN IT AND THE OTHER IN A PAIR OF PLIERS AND SIMPLY STRETCHED THE TEFLON ABOUT AN INCH, (YOU MUST HAVE SLIGHTLY MORE TEFLON THAN YOU NEED- CAUSE YOU THEN MUST CLIP OFF BOTH CRIMPED SIDES) AND VIOLA- HE SLID IT UP THE TUBE IN .5 SECONDS. ITS AN OLD TRICK ONLY THE 30+ YEARS FE VETS KNOW ABOUT. NOW AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS THE TEFLON WILL COME BACK TO ITS NORMAL SIZE AND BE SECURED SNUG IN THE STUFFING TUBE.

Ray has been around the block a few times! He's a good guy to be able to hang around with.

I picked up the same trick from another seasoned racer a few years back.

Best thing to do is freeze the liner, then stuff it right in

What about keeping the Teflon liner in a tube that is the same diameter and the Teflon slides in easily? Do you clue it in?

How do you keep the teflon from spinning inside the tube. I've had that happen too.

I've used a piece of fuel or water line tubing over lapping the teflon and brass to hold the teflon in place. In some cases where my stuffing tube was not as well bent as it could be, I've had to search for a larger piece of teflon, so to have a snug fit in the stuffing tube.

well in the case of the bj- you wont ever have to worry about it moving around in there cause it will be super snugged in after the teflon comes back to its orig. size.

i think they used some type of metric size for the stuffing tube on bj's perhaps

Yep...you can be certain it was metric.
