    No arming beeps?

I added a Castle Creations external BEC because I am stepping up to 5S and did not want to take any chances. The ESC beeps when I program it with the card, however I am no longer getting the arming beeps when I turn the power on. Is this normal with an external BEC or should I still be getting the arming beeps? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Seems to be. Hit the throttle and it spins the prop for a moment. Have not had a chance to drop it in the water yet.

The External BEC should act EXACTLY like when you hook up a battery pack to it... in essence it's what you are doing...

just outta curiosity, did you adjust the safety cutoff to meet the 5s (5x 3.3v=16.5v)?

never mind then, I don't think you can adjust it... it's automatic...
Coming to think of it, I am not sure that the ESC requires BEC
in any occasion, I'll try to find he manual online somewhere...
that may be the reason that you are not getting any signs of life.

Ok, read page 8 on the manual... it tells you that you need to put the cell type in lipo, there is a cutoff setting, put it on "high"... since you will be running with more cells, it's a good idea to put a smaller prop on her....
It never mentions that you need an Rx pack, so I'd stay away from the External BEC as well, to be more sure, maybe you should call the Support line.
