    Fuller's set up question

I'm looking to pick up a Fuller's next generation set up or the inline hardware. As a sport boater (hope to be racing later I the year) is it advised to stay with the inline for left and right turn agility? And seeing as I have the stock setup, currently, if I were to oder the 3/16 hardware will I need to remove the stock tubing and add my own brass or will the teflon simply go in the stock tube?

    Thank you- Duc

No need to change out the brass stuffing tube. The new teflon liner will slide into the stock stuffing tube. I just did one last night. Giving the outside of the teflon liner a light sanding befor install made things a little easier.

you can also polish the inside of the stuffing tube with some sand paper super glued and wrapped around a small drill bit. Just be carefull and don't use but a drop of super glue because when you get the sandpaper too warm the super glue will soften and glue the sand paper into the stuffing tube.. That makes one nasty mess ( yes I've had it happen to me.)
and use plenty of cable grease when installing liner and use the cable/ flex shaft to help pull the liner in with out kinking the teflon. Just take your time youll get it.

          fitting the teflon tube

          Hi all

Well i found a sure fire way to install the Teflon tube as we all know you just don't want to kink it so what i do is to get a length of carbon fiber rod or you could use any type of plastic rod from a kite, balloon stick, anything as long as it flexes and is of the correct diameter to fit into the Teflon tube once inserted in the Teflon tube your free to give it a light sanding without fear of it kinking then to install into the stuffing tube just slide the whole thing in
this is where you need the carbon rod to give you that little bit of flex as you near the motor mount end you will be able to hold the Teflon tube while gently pulling the carbon rod out
bingo one Teflon tube installed kink free...........

Maxamus, i dont understand what your doing differently from just using the flex cable instead of a carbon rod.

i think you missunderstood me here
when the carbon rod is inserted into the teflon tube it gives it rigidety and prevents the teflon tube from kinking when sanding, and when it is inserted into the stuffing tube on the hull

read this and then read my first post again and it will make sence lol

Well thats what im saying why not just use the flex shaft, its definately going to be the right size and you dont have to go looking for the correct size rod.

CHECKOUT NEW THREAD- TEFLON LINER TRICK, I WAS AT RAY FULLERS HOUSE YESTERDAY.. HE SHOWED ME THE ULTIMATE TRICK ONLY THE FE VETS KNOW ABOUT. SIMPLY STRETCH THE TEFLON- IT WILL STAY STRETCHED ONLY FOR A BIT SO SLIDE IT UP IN WITH EASE ( NEED NO FLEX ROD) AND SET IT WHERE YOU WANT IT CAUSE IN A FEW HOURS IT WILL REFORM TO ITS ORIG. SIZE.
