    Waterproofing Lipos

I have a set of SMC 5000mah packs and they have there own hard case. I want to make them waterproof. I also use them in my other vehicles so what ever I do, I need to maintain there shape somewhat. I was thinking of buying some large balloons and covering them with that, but was wondering if there is anything thicker or better to use. I see Maxamps is advertising packs warterproof.

    Water-sealed for all-weather protection

The MaxAmps 6500mAh 2s2p 7.4v LiPo (Lithium-Polymer) battery is assembled in the USA for drones, UAV, VTOL, aerospace, and robotics applications. Includes fast delivery.

I just force some silicon sealant in & around the wires and under the end of the heat shrink at both ends. I make sure it gets between all the balance & power wires then smear it up along the wires a bit. Haven't had a problem yet & some of my packs have had a good dunking.
Not sure how it could work on a hard casing pack though.
    Here's a pic.
    Cheers.

785boats thanks for the suggestion. I may try that too. I went to Target and found some 12" balloons. They fit tight, but I think they will do the trick. Maybe even double them up. I also found some punching bag balloons which are thicker and larger. But not as pretty. Will try those later. Now I just need to find a way to strap them inside the Blackjack seeing I took out the battery trays.
