    Battery packs?

How many packs usually do you take with you to run....I'm running NIMH and I have 1 set of promatch 7 cell 4600 and 1 set of 3800 some generic brand...How long of run times will I get.

All depends on how much you load the motor with prop...well and how the boat is trimmed. Running wet ,etc.

Little props, less load and less amps so more run time.

I would not expect a long run time from those...they are not meant for bigger amps that the systems today pull.

You should be able to get 5 minutes of racing but for playing around much more. Best is to check heat on the cells after a couple minutes. Once you know what they are doing you can then time an extra minute and then check and so on. For sport I can get 10 min or more just playing around. Coming on plane sucks some juice so keeping it up and not dragging it around is key.

I used to bring 3 sets (6 packs) of my 7 cell, 3800mah NIMH packs. That would last me about 20-30 minutes of total fun. Now I will be bringing 3 sets of 2s, 4900mah lipos, so we'll see how that turns out. I will be taking breaks between sets to let things cool down.
