    Time for a up grade

I just started a upgrade on my blackjack 26. I've got the fuller 1 7/8" super
strut with the 3 1/4 inch HV super strut bracket I'm using this combo as I want the prop wash behind the rudder. Also using the speedmaster mini rudder
as others have but moounting it higher up on the boat so that the servo rod is
near stock height. and theres less rudder in the water. Hopefully less drag.
also adding a carbon fiber reinforcement to the transom and I have made a set of rails from carbon fiber also. almost completely eliminating all wood parts
also planning on adding a couple of carbon fiber bulkheads up front also and foaming everything.. am taking photos of build and will post as I take them.
Anyone else have any ideas or additional things I could add to improve the boat???

I know it's a basic question, but have you tried lowering the batteries by removing the battery trays?

      Only the usual...

lipos 18.5v 5s seems to be within the esc's limit.
Octura x642 prop sharpened and balanced
Scuffing the Hull lightly with some smooth grit paper
      2.4ghz Radio system is nice
      angeling the turn fins
      C of G

After that things start to get real expensive. Im at the above point already but happy with the running gear on the Fastech as its all alu. I dont doubt the fullers hardware is a great improvement but i just cant bring myself to shell anymore money out right now as its so cold and water is full of bracken at the moment....

For the future im thinking the Etti 125amp water cooled esc so i can run 30v 2 x 3s. Good for speeds 50mph+ but thats not for me right now. Post some pics and performance details etc.

1 Thing i do suggest is take your time and do 1 change at a time so you know what exactly has changed. i Started Prop upgrade first the lipos so i can tell what im getting from each upgrade.

battery trays were the first thing to go. I'm going to put two
carbon fiber strips in the bottom of the sponsons for the batterys to sit on
and I have several different props I'm looking to try out.. hull allready scuffed
waiting to angle turn fins to see how it handles without them and have switched
to a futaba fm radio on both this and my supervee 27. Actually the supervee is the wifes..... Am looking at lipos but the cost is HORRABLE....

I was thinking the same as you re-lipos. This boat is just a bit of fun for me but after watching many different setups on youtube i bit the bullet.

Unfortunately i had a slight change of mind after buying 2 x 3s 4900 packs (£120) i thought it would be safer to run 5s setup rather than a 6s setup so i then had to get 2 x 2s 4900 packs... another £70 and had to have them shipped from the US as no one here in the uk stocks the 4900 2s rhinos

so im £200 in on lipos, 2 sets and i already had a set of 3700 nimhs £60.

Battery power has cost me more than the boat lol...

HOWEVER i fly helis and planes as well as run tamiya tt-01 so im planning on running the TT01 on the 2s packs and my larger planes on the 3s packs.
