NEWBIE Please post vids on 6s and report any issues youve had

    Hi,

New here but been trawling the site for a while now. Cant seem to find any vids of anyone running on 6s. I have the Formla fastech but as i understand it it has the same hardware esc and motor as the blackjack. Ive just recieved 2 x 3s 4900 zippy rhino packs and wanted as much info as i can before i try them out.

Have many people smoked there esc on 6s???

Please post any vids or links for any 6s setups and runs as i cant seem to find anything on youtube. Comparison runs on 18.5v vs 22.2v would be great as im still on the fence regarding what power i want to run....

BTW my setup is stock apart from a balanced and sharpened x642 prop and 6s lipos.

I believe that you may have major problems running 6S with the x642 prop in a stock BJ26. Your amp draw will be very high, you need to use a smaller prop to keep the current low - an x438 would be a place to start. 6S will stress the outdrive plenty too. 6S is more than the ESC is designed to use, how long it will last depends on how you prop and run the boat, and on the quality of the packs you use.

Jay, Andy Kunz called me asking for your e-mail. I have your e-mail from Alaska...doh.

He said your e-mail bounced back. I have his number if you e-mail or PM me.

        Hmmmmn

Ive just ordered another 2 x 4900 2s rhinos and will try running 5s instead for a while. ESC says max 21v so 18.5v should be just fine even with the over volts on a fully charged set. Damn this has gotten expensive in a very short time lol...

        So far:-

Formula fastech rtr £170 (in the sale instead of £250)
        2 x Rhino 4900 3s £120
        2 x Rhino 4900 2s £67
Octura 642 balanced and sharpened £18

I have posted vids of my dad's Fastech on 6S and my Titan 29 (running same proboat hardware) on 6S. Dads fastech (in the Fastech thread) screamed on an X445, didn't run it more than a minute or so and no damage. The Titan I smoked after a minute or two on a X645. So yes prop down, you may want to change out the stock steerable out drive before running 6S.
