I bend/break speed master hardware from time to time on a blow off....
I sheared a pair of speedmaster tabs COMPLETLY off of my N2 mono when she blew off running 67mph.
Dad bent the crap out of a seaducer rudder with a combo spin out blow off at 80mph +
There isnt a piece of hardware out there that is bullet proof,i agree with Avanti on the fact that you obviously want to setup a boat to not blow off or spin out ,but regardless is going to happen from time to time. It only takes a rooster tail or the wind to pick up for just a second to get that boat on her back. Its part of it.
IMO any aluminum hardware thin or not, is going to be better than plastic hardware...
