what is the best way to cut a flex shaft? thanks

Dremel and cut-off wheel

tape the end and dremel

Depends on how far down the flex you go. I would probably solder up the area of flex you are going to cut before doing so. This will make the shaft solid for cutting and also reduce any spurs and unravelling of the flex during cutting.
