Best way to remove battery trays?

What is the best way to remove the battery trays from the BJ26? Don't want to damage anything in the process. Thanks!

I've had good luck with a pair of needle nose pliers and going slow and easy. The wood twists right out.

I was going to use a couple of M80s on mine
but it was raining so I just worked them out with a pair of pliers. Wasn't hard at all.
