    how to?

    hi i have a question i wanna get into electric boats but don't know anything about them ive had nitro boats before but wanna change it up to electrics my question is about motors and how do you figure out lets say i tell you i want this motor lehner Basic XL 5000 1300 Watts @ 125 Amps and 5000rpms/volts how do u figure out how many batterys i need what speed controller would i need thats what i don't understand how do you know what the most u can push the motor this is for a cat thats 35''-41'' i wanna get it to 60mph i know this motor won't do that but its just an exzample

    i understand that if i have 14.4 volt battery and my motor is rated 1300 per volt thats 18720 rpm im giving to the motor correct now what about the amp rating if a motor rated for 125 amp does this mean the max amp u can run or at full throttle it takes a countinuous of 125 amps max and i would need a speed controller that does 125 amps or bigger does that make any sense

      makes some sense, shoot an email across to to Steve (@ ose) on the home page he can give you some ideas on what you need to buy for a 60mph boat.....it';s not gonna be cheap, i looked onto this and a rough figure added up to $1000+

        well ive decided to go with a mean machine and start it out for now with a feigao 10xl and gonna use 4s2p lipos and a 447/3 prop don't know what esc im going to use still looking

          Take a look in the build thread for the Mean Machine build very informative!

          Also look for the fall issue of RC boat modeller, Jay Turner did an article on a Mean Machine build
