You don't need a lipo shield if you have the stock blackjack speed control. Just get the program card and switch the battery option to "li-po" and your covered.

Yes that radio will work, but I would advise to get something better. For all I know it might work good, but in my eyes I don't skimp on $$$ when it comes to the only thing keeping me in control of my expensive and fast rc items. That's just me. I am not saying you need a crazy expensive radio, you just need a proven one. The Tactic systems are affordable, and reliable and proven to have a good reputation.

Pay $15 more and get the gt3b... well worth it. Run it on all my riggs no issues.
