    Twin or not

Hi guys I am in need of some advice. I have a BJ26 that I have been running for some time now, it has all the usual upgrades (hardware, esc, prop, etc..). Now that the weather is starting to warm up here in Canada, I am starting to get the itch to start running again. So heres my question. I have a semi tight budget and was kicking around the idea of re-building the boat to run a twin set-up. I'm not looking to sink (pun intended..LOL) alot of money into this boat as I know the hull design is somewhat limited but would love to push it pretty hard this year. Just a quick setup I thought may work and I am by no means a pro at this. Let me you know what you think or if you have a better setup for about the same $$
    2x Turnigy B36-56-04-2600kv motors
    2x Trunigy 120amp marine ESC's
    2x 70mm Adj Stinger drives
Thats about as far as I have made it. I'll be running a 4s setup and would consider 6s if need be. The budget is $200 to get me started.
Let me know what you all think or throw out some ideas, hell even some hot single setups would be good too.
    Thanks

IMO, those motors are not good enough, go for the Suppo outrunner H3126 1600Kv or 1300Kv, cheap and run great on 6S!

      DV8ion,

Welcome to OSE This is a great place and there is alot of knowledgable people here (I am not one of them).

What part of Ontario are you from?

TWINS...ABSALUTELY!!!! But you would have to consider trying to do it on that budget. I think that you will run out of cash before you are done. You mention that your BJ already has some upgrades. ESC, Hardware. How fast do you think it runs now?

If you could post a few more details on your hardware. and ESC then maybe you can get a little better advice on which way to go. Single or Twin.

i think your good on the esc and stingers but forget those motors, i would suggest maybe a pair of turnigy typhoon 1800kv outrunners, there cheap and they rip on 4s very well.

I have one of those, the wires are soldered inside the motor, if the solder gets too hot the wires come off and they are a pain to solder back on. Ask me how I know.

The H3126 are better quality IMO, I have both the 1300Kv and 1600Kv ones, fightercatracing.com has the 2200Kv that will work just fine on 4S.

Just make sure you check the grub screws before running them.

BTW, any luck selling that Red Evo? I was this close to buying it last night, but I have waaaay too many boats.

I think you guys are right, after doing some more searching on the suggestions I got from here, I think the money will run out way too soon. LOL So I thank all of you for the suggestions and I will be building the boat (over time). In the mean time I bought an R2 Hobbies GodSpeed Cat and just run a single in it. I have a Turnigy 180A esc and just going to run the stock BJ or UL-1 motor on 4s for now until I can decide on a decent motor to run. Any suggestions on a prop motor combo that will be good on 6s ? Just looking for speed but not to the point I'm burning stuff up every other run.
              Thanks again guys.
              Oh BTW I'm in Mississauga

Have you been in touch with the metro marine modelers? Not sure where they run but they are a group of Toronto area electric boaters.
They have a webpage and their own forum, you need to register to see that.
There are a few of us running in the Peterborough area.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I know of them and I have a good friend that used to run with them. I may have to look into what they are up too this summer. I know a club runs up near 427 & 7 at Clairville (sp?).
