Closing in on 50mph

Changed my prop to a x645 and hit 48.8 on the gps,with 6s, I think with alittle strut adj I my hit 50.
but, whats with my 120 swordfish esc, when I run 4s this thing just does not get out of it's own way, is ther some setting I'm missing? the esc is set at factory settings with everything set to auto as far as timing, cutoff, ect.
any input would be helpfull.

With 4s setup the boat only hits about 25mph if I'm lucky, the batterys are charging to 8.46 volts so I think they are still good, when I used the bj esc the boat ran around 39 mph. with the swordfish 120 only 6s performs well.
Is there a spisific setting for 4s set up on the swordfish?I dont think so, but I may be wrong, or are my 2s battery packs done for.

Whats the timing setting on the esc? Id think 6S should give you more than 48mph. I had a boat doing 42 and when I went from 4S to 5S I got to 50. Id think 6S would be mid 50s easy.?

Yea I've been battleing that for a while, just can't get the proper speed with the approate batterys, the timing is set to auto, had it on high but no difference.
the boat is a little heavier 4.44 lbs w/o batts, due to reinforceing the hull with fiberglass cloth and resin. with 4s my best speed was 39.0 thats with the stock bj esc and no hull strengthening.I 'm just

Did you run it on the stock set up using 4S after reinforcement to get a new baseline? Have you tried different timing settings? I personally dont ever like "Auto" set up on anything. Id rather tell it what to do so I know it knows. How is its ride attitude, wet, dry?

No I ran it with the new esc, after reinforcement, and running it on 6s it runs dry,
the only other setting then auto was setting the timing to high.
after running on 6s I tryed it on 4s and it just would not pick up speed, I knew it would be slower but not that slow, it's as if the batterys were dead and not putting out, but as I said the 2s batterys were charging to 8.46-8.48 volts.
tomorrow I'm going to take another look at the esc settings in the instructions and see what I can see, but I really don't know what to change other then the timing, would changing the lvc setting change anything,? i'ts also set on auto.
I only changed to the swordfish 120 so I could run up to 6S. ANY suggestions would be helpfull,
alittle more weight is something but it"s not like I put a brick in it.

Try it back stock, if it does close to what it did, Id say you need a new speedy so you can run 6S and be "wowwed". If the stock set up shows 25mph like the SF, then youve got hull/ set up issues. Have you tried different batteries? I dont think thats the issue, but at least you could positively rule it out.

I just re-read it. Try setting the esc manually to 4S. Maybe it thinks its still in 6S and is staying in slow mode b/c it thinks its reached its LVC????

Are you saying to set lvc to 4s setting, because i thought the sf will run from 2s-6s.
do I need to change the settings every time I change to a different battery configuration

Yes, if your running 4S. Whatever battery "S" you are running, you have to tune it to that each time. If not, for example, if you have it set 6S and a cut off at lets say 3V for an easy figure, On 6S you will run and the boat will go into slow mode or half speed or cut off at 18V. If you throw 4S in it, fully charged your at 16-17 volts.. your already in your LVC. So the ESC thinks your packs are to the cut off.

Yes, I'm with tiqueman on this one....I always have to reset my esc's manually to the # of cells I'm running. I hate using the auto function.

OK, Thanks to tiquemans input I set the lvc to 4s and the boat ran ok, much faster then before, no gps this time just wanted to see if that was the issue and it was.
Changed timing to high, soft cut off, fast start and droped in 6s batterys and gps it at 51mph
and still running a bit dry, almost flip it but saved it, it did some thing like a tail walk with a twist and landed upright, hit the throttle and kept on going, 3/4 throttle in the turns, a bit hairy but a good run.
