    LiPo sealing

Have Turnigy hardcase LiPo's. Exactly what needs to be sealed on these batteries and what is the best way to do so ? Is it really necessary to balloon them ?

I strongly recommend not trying to seal them. No matter what you use, the flexible wires will open the seal and allow some water to enter if the boat floods. Then the only way to get the water out is to strip off all the sealant and let the pack air dry. If you think the pack is tight but any water gets in and remains inside it will corrode the tabs badly and pack failure will be the result.

Most of us don't worry about sealing. If the pack gets wet we can peel off the shrink wrap - not that tough if you're careful - and blow out the water. Once completely dry, just re-shrink and you're ready to go. "Sealing" packs is a feel-good action that will inevitably be worse than not sealing them.

Not even something like dialectic grease ? Used this stuff for years waterproofing my dirtbikes. Worked great and disolved easily with a shot of contact cleaner.
